Experiential lecture by Holger Yeshe
Join us on an experiential lecture, in which a Buddhist monk Holger Yeshe will share his own personal experience of contemplative practices and their benefits in dealing with stress, emotional challenges and building resilience. He will also draw from relevant research on meditation in relation to wellbeing. As part of the lecture, you will have a chance to engage in dialogue and will be invited to experience some of these practice under Holger Yeshe’s guidance.
About the speaker
Holger Yeshe was born in Nürnberg, Germany and began practicing Buddhism in 1999. Since then, he has studied and practiced in both the Theravadan and Tibetan Buddhist traditions. In 2005, he met his main teacher, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and in 2010 was ordained as a Buddhist monk under his tutelage. During two decades of study and practice, he became proficient in Tibetan language. In 2016 he returned to Europe and currently helps co-direct Tergar Meditation Community e.V., a non-profit organisation in Germany. He splits his time between facilitating meditation seminars, interpreting, editing course material for Tergar International, personal retreat, and various other projects.
Seeing the benefits of meditation practise in his own life and those around him, he has a particular interest in making meditation widely available and in the intersection between the meditative tradition and western scientific modes of inquiry. Since 2019, he has served as a planning committee member of Mind and Life Summer Research Institute.
